Accessibility · YoursAssistance
Made to work for everyone.
What yoursassistance.com and my bio page, yaxclass.com, aim for, what I know isn’t there yet, and how to tell me about a problem.
What I aim for
Both sites aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard the Australian Human Rights Commission points websites to.
What’s built in
- Every page works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline.
- Images that carry information have text descriptions.
- Pages reflow to 320px wide (400% zoom) without sideways scrolling.
- Moving parts follow your device’s reduce-motion setting, and they settle on their own within a few seconds. The floating shapes, the soft light and the moving list of sectors play for five seconds or less, only while they’re on screen. The rotating headline goes round once, the notifications change a few times and then stop, and each button pulse plays once. The film has a Pause button.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are written out under the field.
Known limits
Bookings run in Setmore’s booking window, a third-party service I don’t control. If it doesn’t work for you, email hello@yoursassistance.com and I’ll book a time with you directly.
Report a problem
If something on either site is hard to use, email hello@yoursassistance.com. Tell me the page and what happened. I read every message myself, reply within one business day and fix what I can.
How I check
I test pages with automated checks (axe), with a keyboard only, and at widths down to 320px.
